Liebherr electronic products onboard Boeing airplanes

Liebherr-Aerospace will provide Boeing with brake remote electronic units (REUs) that will be installed on the Boeing 777-8 Freighter.
The brake remote electronic unit (REU) acts as a data concentrator within the aircraft’s braking system. Each aircraft will be equipped with one REU, which supports the new active brake monitoring system and complies with both EASA and FAA regulations for latent failure detection.
Liebherr-Aerospace successfully entered the market with its remote electronic unit concept and began development for its integration in 2018. The design offers exceptional versatility for system and position control, data concentration, monitoring, and data conversion, while delivering high reliability. This makes it an ideal solution for a wide range of aerospace applications.
In addition to the Boeing 787 nose wheel steering unit, the brake REU is the second type of remote electronic unit that Liebherr is supplying to Boeing.

The brake remote electronic units have been developed and are manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH in Lindenberg, Germany, in close cooperation with CUONICS GmbH, based in Straubing, Germany.
The main gear steering control unit, as well as the nose wheel steering control unit, is produced together with Liebherr-Electronics and Drives GmbH in Lindau, Germany.
