Selma Blair Issues Public Apology After JFK Airport Flight Incident and Arrest

American actress Selma Blair has apologised following her arrest over an alleged altercation aboard a Delta Air Lines flight arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York on October 11, 2026.

Blair addressed the incident in an Instagram video on October 30, saying she had remained silent for several weeks on the advice of her lawyers.

“I’m sorry that it’s taken this long,” the actress said, apologising to those who may have been hurt or frightened by the incident.

The incident reportedly occurred aboard Delta Flight 938 travelling from Los Angeles to New York. Authorities said police responded after receiving reports of a passenger behaving aggressively following the aircraft’s arrival.

Two flight attendants reportedly sustained injuries, with one requiring hospital evaluation. Blair was subsequently taken into custody and transported to a hospital.

She was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and pleaded not guilty in court on October 12. She was later released on bail.

Blair’s representative previously said the actress experienced a medical emergency during the flight and did not intend to hurt anyone.
