As AI-powered robots, autonomous vehicles and drones transition from testing environments to business-critical operations, the need to verify their safety, security and operational resilience is becoming increasingly urgent.

To help organisations assess these systems with greater confidence, ST Engineering today announced plans to establish a Transparency Centre in Singapore. Opening in the first quarter of 2027, the Centre will provide specialised, independent assurance to assess and validate autonomous platforms before they are deployed in the real world.

The Transparency Centre will help organisations unlock the full potential of their autonomous platforms and cyber-physical systems—including autonomous vehicles, drones and mobile robots—with independent assessment, rigorous cybersecurity validation and targeted hardening.

By providing transparency and deep insight into the technologies they deploy, the Centre empowers customers to make informed decisions and to adopt safe, resilient and trustworthy systems in real-world environments.

Drawing on ST Engineering’s expertise in securing critical information infrastructure and protecting business-critical data across IT, operational technology (OT) and cloud environments, the Transparency Centre helps customers build trust into autonomous systems from the outset.

It brings together the Group’s capabilities in robotics, autonomous technologies and mission-critical systems for smart cities, giving customers an independent and trusted partner to assess, strengthen and manage their systems throughout their lifecycle.

Independent assurance prior to deployment

Aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, the Transparency Centre will deliver rigorous, in-depth assessments that uncover hidden vulnerabilities, security weaknesses and software supply chain risks. Using advanced binary analysis technology, the Centre can examine software binaries and firmware directly—without requiring access to proprietary source code.

Assessment is only the beginning. The Centre can also help organisations strengthen and future-proof their systems through targeted rectification and cybersecurity upgrades.

These measures include implementing stronger hardware roots of trust for systems handling sensitive data and enhancing encryption across storage and communications, helping organisations operate their autonomous platforms with greater resilience and confidence.
