GetJet Group is planning to expand its aircraft maintenance operations with a new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Vilnius International Airport in Lithuania. The company plans to invest around €25 million in the new hangar, which is expected to create more than 100 new jobs.

The project is part of GetJet Group’s long-term plan to strengthen its technical capabilities and expand its aviation services. The company’s subsidiary, Airhub Aviation, has secured an 11,200-square-metre site at Vilnius International Airport through a land lease auction organised by Lithuanian Airports.

Airhub Aviation has received the right to lease the site for 40 years. GetJet Group plans to use the land to build a modern MRO hangar for aircraft maintenance and related technical services. The new facility is expected to improve the group’s ability to maintain aircraft independently. It will also give the company greater operational flexibility and allow it to provide more technical services to aviation customers around the world.

GetJet Group CEO Darius Viltrakis said the investment is an important part of the company’s growth strategy. The expansion is expected to increase the group’s technical independence and support its wider aviation operations. The new MRO facility is expected to create more than 100 jobs once it becomes operational. GetJet Group also plans to create around 200 aviation jobs across its facilities at Vilnius and Šiauliai airports in the coming years.

The new positions are expected to include aircraft maintenance engineers, avionics specialists, technicians and engine maintenance professionals. Jobs will also be available in areas such as planning, quality control and logistics. The company plans to attract both experienced aviation workers and professionals from other technical fields to support the expansion.

The new site is located next to another 4,700-square-metre plot that GetJet Group has already secured through a long-term lease. The company plans to invest around €10 million between 2025 and 2029 to build another hangar at that location. Together, these projects will significantly increase GetJet Group’s presence at Vilnius International Airport and strengthen its aircraft maintenance capabilities.

GetJet Group is also developing its MRO business at Šiauliai International Airport. Its subsidiary Airhub Aviation already operates an MRO hangar at the airport and is involved in aviation asset management.

According to the company, the Šiauliai facility has reached full capacity after only two years of operation. It currently serves aviation companies and is being developed as an important aircraft maintenance location in Northern and Eastern Europe. The investment supports Lithuania’s plans to strengthen its position as a regional MRO hub. Lithuanian Airports and Invest Lithuania have welcomed GetJet Group’s expansion plans.

Lithuanian Airports said investments of this type can help improve the competitiveness of the country’s aviation sector. The development of modern MRO infrastructure can also attract more aviation businesses and create skilled employment opportunities. Invest Lithuania has identified MRO as one of Lithuania’s promising high-value aviation sectors.

With new facilities planned at Vilnius and continued development at Šiauliai, GetJet Group is expected to play an important role in expanding Lithuania’s aircraft maintenance industry. The projects will increase technical capacity, create new aviation jobs and strengthen the country’s position in the regional aviation market.
