IndiGo continues to strengthen its network in Gujarat with operations to/from six cities, including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar (from 23 April 2026). IndiGo now offers direct flights from these cities in Gujarat to over 30 destinations across India, along with international connectivity to Dubai from Ahmedabad, besides convenient connections across its network.

With over 700+ weekly departures from the state, IndiGo is supporting Gujarat’s position as a major hub for manufacturing, trade, ports, and global diaspora movement.

Recently, IndiGo added over 50+ weekly flights to and from Navi Mumbai International Airport in addition to existing connectivity to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, further solidifying network access from Gujarat, while enhancing connectivity between the state and the country’s financial hub, Mumbai.

It is enabling seamless access to GIFT City as it emerges as a hub for global finance and investment, while on the other hand, iconic destinations such as the Rann of Kutch are becoming more accessible to tourists from around the country and the world.

Industry estimates suggest that the airline carried well over 8–10 million passengers to and from Gujarat in 2025, reflecting its dominant market share across key airports such as Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara. Gujarat has consistently ranked among IndiGo’s stronger regional markets, supported by a mix of business, diaspora, and tourism demand.

In terms of growth, IndiGo’s capacity deployment in Gujarat has expanded steadily over the past two years, with available seat capacity (ASKs) estimated to have grown in the mid-to-high teens percentage range year-on-year. The factors for the growth include increased frequencies, the addition of new city pairs, and the airline’s strategy of deepening connectivity in high-potential regional markets.

On the cargo front, Gujarat, with its strong base in textiles, pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and perishables, contributes significantly to the airline’s total domestic cargo throughput, with Ahmedabad acting as a key node.

As of today, IndiGo connects 96 domestic destinations and 45 international destinations with its over 400-strong fleet. Domestic network remains IndiGo’s core growth engine.  For IndiGo, 2026 is less about new metros and more about densification, new hubs (Navi Mumbai) and regional penetration. On international expansion, this year it has launched Kolkata – Shanghai (daily); Delhi – Colombo (6x weekly) and India – Athens (non-stop). This year marks a pivot from short-haul LCC to medium/long-haul with entry into Europe, rebuilding China and ASEAN corridors.
