Singapore Airlines (SIA) has unveiled its next-generation long-haul cabin products, with an investment of more than S$2 billion in new First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class seats designed to offer greater comfort, privacy and convenience on long-haul journeys.

The new cabin products will be progressively introduced from the second half of 2027 on SIA’s 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900 ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft, and its new Boeing 777-9 fleet.

The Boeing 777-9 will feature all four new cabin products, while the retrofitted A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft will receive the new Business Class seats. First Class will also be introduced on the A350-900ULR for the first time.

Mr Lee Lik Hsin, Chief Commercial Officer, Singapore Airlines, said: “While each cabin has been designed individually, they are united by the same ambition to make the experience more comfortable, flexible, and rewarding for our customers. Singapore Airlines’ next-generation long-haul cabin products will ensure that our customers travel more comfortably than before, and have greater control over their in-flight experience, whether they are working, dining, relaxing, or resting.”

The development of these products involved research with more than 5,000 frequent travellers, customers, staff and industry experts worldwide.

Through focus groups, interviews, surveys and concept testing, SIA gathered insights into how customers work, dine, relax, sleep and spend their time on board.

The new cabin products were developed with international design firms PriestmanGoode for First Class, Designworks for Business Class, and Factorydesign for Premium Economy Class and Economy Class. Collins Aerospace will manufacture the First Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class seats, while RECARO Aircraft Seating will manufacture the Business Class seats.

First Class: Private Suites and Double Beds

SIA’s new First Class cabin has been designed as a private and luxurious sanctuary, combining craftsmanship, technology and personalisation for long-haul travel.

Available on the Boeing 777-9 and Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft, the cabin features elegantly curved sliding doors and walls to provide greater privacy and spaciousness. Premium Poltrona Frau leather upholstery, soft wall panels featuring SIA’s signature batik motif and carefully considered lighting contribute to the cabin environment.

The new First Class will have six seats on the Boeing 777-9 and four on the A350-900ULR, with direct aisle access for every seat.

Each seat offers electronically adjustable side wings, upper and lower lumbar support, armrests, leg rest and an ottoman.

The seat measures 23 inches in width, increasing to 30 inches when the armrests are lowered. It converts into a fully flat bed measuring 80 inches in length and 30 inches in width.

Customers travelling together in the centre seats may open the privacy divider to create a shared space for dining and relaxation.

The two seats can also transform into a two-seater sofa for daytime lounging or what SIA describes as the largest double bed in commercial aviation, measuring 80 inches in length and 60 inches in combined width.

For a restful sleep, the cabin crew will prepare the fully flat bed with 100% cotton bed linens, a duvet and a choice of pillows. The sleep experience includes a new mattress topper from Paradies, a German luxury bedding specialist.

Each First Class seat also supports face-to-face companion dining, with a large table measuring 27 inches by 22.5 inches. A personal wardrobe, leather-lined vanity drawer and cabin baggage compartment provide dedicated storage.

The First Class entertainment system features a 32-inch 4K high-resolution touchscreen, with an OLED display on the A350-900ULR. Spatial audio, Bang & Olufsen wireless headphones and Bluetooth pairing for personal headphones are also provided. Integrated myKrisWorld smart cabin controls remember customers’ preferred seat positions and lighting settings for future journeys.

Business Class: Greater Privacy and Comfort

The new Business Class seat has been designed as a comfortable and adaptable personal space, giving customers the freedom to work, dine, relax and sleep.

Available on the Boeing 777-9, A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft, the cabin features sliding doors at every seat and electronically adjustable privacy dividers between centre seats. All Business Class seats have direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 configuration.

The Boeing 777-9 will have 54 Business Class seats, while the A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft will have 42 and 70 seats respectively.

The seats feature full-grain premium leather upholstery with bespoke embroidery, layered textures and metallic accents.

Enhanced ergonomics provide coordinated adjustments for the back, legs and body, with electronically adjustable lumbar support and leg rests.

The seats have a pitch of 50 inches. The fully flat bed measures 79 inches in length, with a width of 24 inches on the Boeing 777-9 and 22 inches on the A350-900 aircraft.

Selected centre seats can be configured as companion beds when the dividers are lowered, allowing customers travelling together to share the space.

A redesigned table can be stowed at an angle to create additional footwell space when customers are sleeping.

A padded bedsheet enhanced with memory foam provides additional cushioning and support.

The new Business Class features multiple storage compartments, a large bi-fold table measuring 22 inches by 14.7 inches, wireless charging, USB-C ports and universal AC power.

Customers can access KrisWorld through the touchscreen display or a dedicated touchscreen handset. The Boeing 777-9 will feature a 20-inch 4K high-resolution touchscreen, while the A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft will have 22-inch 4K OLED touchscreens. Spatial audio and Bluetooth headphone pairing are also provided.

Smart cabin controls integrated with myKrisWorld allow customers to save their preferred seat positions for future journeys.

Premium Economy Class: More Space and Personal Comfort

The new Premium Economy Class seat on the Boeing 777-9 has been designed to provide greater personal space, comfort and ergonomic support on long-haul journeys.

The aircraft will have 36 Premium Economy Class seats in a 2-4-2 configuration, with a 40-inch seat pitch and 19-inch seat width.

Full-grain premium leather upholstery and plush cushioning create a comfortable seating environment. A four-way adjustable headrest, leg rest with an adjustable footrest and seat recline of up to nine inches provide support throughout the journey.

Personal storage space keeps essential items, including a laptop or water bottle, within easy reach.

A cocktail tray allows customers to enjoy drinks and snacks without deploying the full table, while an adjustable personal reading light and device holder support hands-free entertainment.

USB-C ports and universal AC power outlets allow customers to keep their devices charged, with USB-A ports available on selected aircraft.

The next-generation KrisWorld entertainment system includes 4K high-resolution touchscreens of up to 16 inches, spatial audio and Bluetooth headphone pairing.

Customers can use the active noise-cancellation headphones provided or connect their own compatible Bluetooth devices. A dedicated handset allows customers to navigate their entertainment conveniently.

Economy Class: Improved Comfort on Long-Haul Flights

The new Economy Class seat on the Boeing 777-9 focuses on comfort during long-haul journeys, with ergonomic cushioning, improved knee and shin clearance, and a redesigned seat reclining mechanism.

The aircraft will have 204 Economy Class seats in a 3-4-3 configuration, with a seat pitch of 31–32 inches and a width of 17.6 inches.

Wired earphones are also provided. A secondary display gives real-time journey updates, including flight information, in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity status and lavatory availability.

Charging options include USB-C ports on all aircraft, with USB-A ports and universal AC power charging on selected aircraft. Other features include an under-monitor storage space for small personal items, a cupholder and coat hook.
