Noida Airport News: Akasa Air Launches Operations from Noida International Airport

Noida Airport News
India’s fastest-growing airline, Akasa Air, has started commercial operations from Noida International Airport, marking an important milestone in the airline’s expansion plans. The move is expected to improve air connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) and provide more travel options for passengers in northern India.
The airline’s inaugural flight from Noida Airport took place on June 16, 2026. The first service departed from Navi Mumbai International Airport at 7:25 am and arrived at Noida at 9:35 am. With this launch, Akasa Air has become one of the first airlines to offer commercial services from the newly operational airport.
The commencement of operations at Noida International Airport is considered a significant step for both the airline and the airport. The new airport is expected to become a major aviation hub for the National Capital Region, reducing congestion at Delhi’s main airport and offering passengers additional travel choices.
Akasa Air’s Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Anand Srinivasan, said that starting operations from Noida Airport is an important milestone in the airline’s growth journey. He highlighted that the airport has enormous potential to improve connectivity for travellers not only in the NCR but also in neighbouring states.
The airline believes that the new airport will provide easier access for passengers from Uttar Pradesh and nearby regions who previously had to travel long distances to catch flights from Delhi. Better accessibility is expected to encourage more people to choose air travel for business, tourism, and personal trips.
Airport officials also welcomed the airline’s entry. Christoph Schnellmann said that Akasa Air’s presence at the airport would help expand travel opportunities and provide passengers with greater choice and convenience.
The partnership between Akasa Air and Noida International Airport is expected to contribute significantly to economic growth and regional development. Improved air connectivity often encourages investments, boosts tourism, creates employment opportunities, and supports local businesses.
Apart from operating passenger flights, Akasa Air has also announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Noida International Airport. The MRO facility will be used for aircraft maintenance and technical services, helping the airline maintain high operational standards and improve efficiency.
The establishment of the MRO facility is particularly important because it demonstrates the airline’s long-term commitment to Noida Airport as a strategic aviation hub. Such facilities also create skilled employment opportunities and contribute to the development of the local aviation ecosystem.
Akasa Air has been rapidly expanding its network across India since its launch. The airline has focused on connecting important cities while investing in modern aircraft and operational infrastructure. Its entry into Noida Airport aligns with its broader vision of building a strong national presence and improving accessibility for passengers across the country.
The launch of operations from Noida International Airport marks another important chapter in India’s growing aviation sector. As new airports become operational and airlines continue expanding their networks, passengers can expect better connectivity, increased competition, and improved travel experiences.
With its first flight successfully completed and plans for future expansion already underway, Akasa Air’s presence at Noida International Airport is expected to play a significant role in shaping the future of air travel in northern India.
