One of the affected flights was an Air India service arriving from Hyderabad to Mumbai. According to passengers onboard, the aircraft landed safely in Mumbai, but travelers were unable to leave the plane for at least 30 minutes after arrival.

Another flight significantly impacted by the disruption was Air India flight AI 431 from Mumbai to Dehradun. The flight was originally scheduled to depart at 12:10 pm but was delayed by at least two hours.
Passengers waiting at the boarding gate complained that the airline was not providing enough updates regarding the revised departure time. Some travelers said they had been waiting at the airport since the morning without proper communication from airline staff.
One passenger, speaking anonymously, said passengers had reached the boarding gate around 11 am as mentioned on their boarding passes but were still waiting to board long after the scheduled time.
Following reports of the disruption, Air India released an official statement acknowledging the issue. The airline explained that industrial action by employees of a third-party ground handling agency at Mumbai airport was affecting both Air India and Air India Express operations.
Ground handling agencies play an important role in airport operations. Their responsibilities include baggage handling, aircraft servicing, passenger boarding assistance, loading and unloading cargo, and coordinating aircraft movement on the ground.
