Textron Aviation expands avionic modernization upgrade availability for original Cessna CitationJet aircraft

Textron Aviation today announced availability of an all-Garmin avionics retrofit solution for Cessna CitationJet aircraft, serial numbers 525-0001 through 0359, following Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certification (STC).

Why it matters

• The certification expands Textron Aviation’s investment in supporting legacy Cessna aircraft by extending its OEM-supported avionics modernization to the earliest CitationJet aircraft. The all-Garmin upgrade solution gives owners and operators access to advanced cockpit technology also available on the CJ1 and CJ2 while helping keep their aircraft capable, relevant and supported.

• The Garmin flight deck includes the G600 TXi flight display, TXi EIS, GTN 750Xi FMS/NAV/COMM and GFC 600 digital autopilot, along with features such as Stabilized Approach monitoring and aural V-speed alerting during takeoff. Optional upgrades include the GWX 8000 StormOptix weather radar and GDL 60 datalink for the PlaneSync connected aircraft management system.
• Customers can complete the upgrade through Textron Aviation’s service network, gaining access to OEM-backed service expertise while enhancing cockpit capability and extending the value of their aircraft. By combining certification, installation and ongoing support through a single provider, owners benefit from a modernization solution backed by the same company that designed, manufactured and continues to support the aircraft.
