A heated confrontation between SpiceJet ground staff and passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday, October 24, has attracted attention after a video of the incident circulated on social media. More than 150 passengers were reportedly involved in the argument, with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel present at the scene.

The 68-second video, shared on X by the handle @IndianLafdaa, shows passengers gathered around a SpiceJet counter and arguing with airline employees.

During the exchange, a staff member is heard remarking, “SpiceJet sasta hai, isliye aaye ho aap” (You chose SpiceJet because it is cheap). The comment drew an angry response from passengers, with some questioning the staff member and others chanting “Shame on SpiceJet”.

CISF personnel are seen near the counter as the confrontation continues. However, the video does not establish what initially triggered the dispute or whether it was related to a flight delay or another service-related complaint.

The incident follows reports of operational disruptions affecting SpiceJet services at several airports in recent months. Passengers have faced prolonged delays on some flights, with disruptions to their travel schedules and onward connections.

The confrontation has brought renewed attention to passenger handling and communication by airline staff during disputes. While operational disruptions can arise for various reasons, providing timely information and addressing passenger grievances remain important responsibilities for airlines.

The circumstances leading to the confrontation remain unclear. SpiceJet has not issued a detailed public statement on the incident.
