IndiGo News: 24 Flights Cancelled at Ranchi Airport Due to Bad Weather

IndiGo has cancelled 24 flight movements at Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi due to adverse weather conditions. The cancellations affected passengers travelling to and from several major cities on September 25, 2026.
According to the airline, the cancellations involved 12 scheduled flight rotations, including 12 arrivals and 12 departures. Passengers travelling through Ranchi Airport were advised to check their flight status with the airline before reaching the airport.
The cancelled IndiGo services connected Ranchi with cities including Kolkata, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Patna and Delhi.
Among the affected flights were services operating between Kolkata and Ranchi, Pune and Ranchi, Ranchi and Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ranchi, and Mumbai and Ranchi. Flights on the Ahmedabad-Ranchi-Patna, Delhi-Ranchi-Delhi and other connecting routes were also affected.
The weather conditions at Ranchi caused disruption to flight operations and resulted in changes to the scheduled travel plans of many passengers. IndiGo has requested passengers to stay in contact with the airline for the latest information about their flights.
The disruption was not limited to IndiGo. An Air India Express flight operating between Bengaluru and Ranchi was also cancelled due to operational reasons.
Another Air India Express flight from Delhi to Ranchi also experienced a delay. Flight IX 1046 was scheduled to arrive in Ranchi at 8:40 am but reached at around 9:56 am. The return flight, IX 1047, was scheduled to depart Ranchi at 9:10 am but eventually took off at 10:52 am.
Passengers affected by the cancellations and delays have been advised to check directly with their respective airlines for updated schedules and further travel arrangements.
The Ranchi flight disruption came shortly after another incident involving IndiGo. Earlier in the week, IndiGo flight 6E 04 operating from London to New Delhi returned safely to London Heathrow Airport after a technical issue was detected shortly after take-off.
According to IndiGo, the pilots followed standard operating procedures and decided to return the aircraft to Heathrow, where it landed safely.
The cancellations at Ranchi Airport highlight how adverse weather and operational issues can affect flight schedules and passenger travel plans. Airlines continue to advise passengers to check updated flight information before travelling.
