EPCOR and mas Sign Long-Term APU Support Agreement for A330 Fleet

EPCOR, part of Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), and Mexican cargo airline mas have signed a new five-year agreement for the long-term support of mas’s Airbus A330 APU fleet. The agreement covers five aircraft equipped with GTCP331-350 APUs and marks the first contract between mas and EPCOR.
As mas continues to develop its international cargo operations and grow its fleet, reliable and predictable APU support is an important part of maintaining fleet availability and operational continuity. The new agreement provides mas with a comprehensive support solution combining APU maintenance, asset management, engineering and predictive maintenance services.
Under the agreement, EPCOR will provide maintenance for APU shop visits, lease for replacement APUs, as well as APU engineering support and Prognos® for APU, a predictive maintenance solution designed to improve maintenance predictability. The support solution has been tailored to mas’s operational preferences, while the flexibility of the available lease APUs provides additional support as the airline manages its APU requirements. Together, these services provide mas with greater flexibility in managing its APU requirements while supporting the reliability and operational performance of its A330 fleet.

Heidi Haveman, Managing Director at EPCOR, said: “Over the past years, we have built a strong understanding of mas’s operational needs and how we can best support them. Together, we have shaped the workscope around their preferences, while the flexibility of the lease solution provides room to adapt as their operational needs evolve. This agreement is a great example of how an operator-to-operator approach can translate into a support solution built around the customer’s specific requirements.”
Robert van de Weg, CEO of mas, added: “We are pleased to establish this partnership with EPCOR and AFI KLM E&M. Over the course of our engagement, EPCOR demonstrated a strong understanding of our operational needs and a willingness to work with us to find the right solution. The ability to tailor the workscope to our preferences was an important factor in our decision. We also value the airline MRO experience that AFI KLM E&M brings to the partnership. This agreement gives us confidence that we have the right support in place as we continue to develop our A330 operations.”
The agreement combines EPCOR’s specialized APU capabilities with the broader operational perspective and MRO expertise of AFI KLM E&M. EPCOR provides APU maintenance for a wide range of commercial aircraft, including the Airbus A330 and A350, and offers complementary asset management solutions, including APU leasing and exchanges, as well as Prognos® for APU for predictive maintenance support.
As mas continues to develop its international cargo operations, the airline currently operates five Airbus A330 aircraft and is looking to further expand its fleet, with additional A330 aircraft and potential future fleet development including the Airbus A350 and Boeing 777F.
