Hyderabad, May 25, 2026: In a significant step toward improving regional air connectivity in India, Star Air has officially relaunched its flight service connecting Hyderabad, Jharsuguda, and Bhubaneswar. The resumed route is expected to benefit a wide range of passengers, including business travellers, students, tourists, and families travelling between South and East India.

The airline will operate this service six days a week, making it more convenient for passengers to plan flexible travel schedules between Telangana and Odisha.

The Hyderabad–Jharsuguda–Bhubaneswar route links three important cities with distinct economic and cultural significance:

Hyderabad: A major IT, business, and education hub in South India, Hyderabad attracts professionals, students, and medical travellers from across the country.

Jharsuguda: An emerging industrial city in Odisha, Jharsuguda plays an important role in the state’s manufacturing and energy sectors. It is also a growing centre for business-related travel.

Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar is known for its educational institutions, administrative importance, tourism, and commercial development.

The new air service aims to significantly reduce travel time between these cities and improve overall accessibility.

Star Air will operate flights on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, providing six weekly services. This frequency gives travellers multiple options to choose from, whether they are travelling for work commitments, family visits, tourism, or education-related purposes.

The consistent schedule is expected to make planning easier for regular passengers who frequently travel between these regions.

The relaunch of this flight route is expected to bring several advantages. For passengers, it reduces dependency on long train journeys or road travel between Hyderabad and Odisha. Air travel will now offer a faster and more comfortable alternative.

For business travellers, the route strengthens connectivity between two growing economic regions. Hyderabad’s strong IT and healthcare sectors, combined with Odisha’s expanding industrial base, create increased demand for quick and efficient travel options.

Jharsuguda, in particular, is expected to benefit from improved accessibility. Industrial workers, investors, and professionals can now travel more conveniently to and from the region.

Tourism is another key area expected to grow due to this connectivity. Bhubaneswar serves as a gateway to several popular tourist destinations in Odisha, including Puri, Konark, Chilika Lake, and numerous historic temples. The improved air link may encourage more domestic tourists to explore the region.

Star Air operates under India’s UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which focuses on improving air connectivity to smaller and underserved cities. The airline primarily uses Embraer E175 aircraft, designed for regional routes with both economy and business class seating.

The relaunch of this route highlights the growing importance of regional aviation in India’s transport network. By connecting smaller cities with major metros, airlines like Star Air are helping improve mobility, boost local economies, and support tourism development.

The resumption of the Hyderabad–Jharsuguda–Bhubaneswar flight service marks an important milestone in enhancing air connectivity between South and East India. With better frequency, reduced travel time, and improved convenience, the route is expected to serve the growing needs of passengers across multiple sectors, strengthening regional integration and economic growth.
