Siemens today announced that The Exploration Company, a European aerospace industry startup focused on reusable space systems, has adopted software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to speed the development of its space systems, reduce design complexity, improve engineering collaboration and enable faster, more scalable spacecraft development.

Founded in 2021, The Exploration Company develops reusable, launcher-agnostic space systems, including the Nyx spacecraft family and high-performance rocket propulsion systems, designed to transport cargo – and eventually crew – to destinations in Earth orbit and beyond. It is working with Siemens to connect engineering disciplines in a single environment that supports efficient, scalable development. By leveraging Siemens’ integrated software across engineering and manufacturing, the company can reduce rework and accelerate product development.

The Exploration Company is using Siemens’ Designcenter™ software for mechanical design, Simcenter™ software for advanced engineering simulation, Capital™ software for electrical systems design, enabling the creation and validation of electrical architectures across the development process and Teamcenter® software for product lifecycle management and collaboration.

Together, these solutions enable a connected engineering environment that integrates mechanical, electrical and simulation workflows and domains, with Teamcenter providing a consistent data backbone across the lifecycle. This allows the company to model and optimize complex processes with changes in one domain reflected across others. The result is improved data consistency, enhanced traceability and reduced development risk, while enabling a comprehensive Digital Twin for earlier validation and improved mission assurance. The integrated Siemens Xcelerator toolchain also helps support certification requirements typical in aerospace programs.
