London Luton Airport Achieves Fifth Consecutive GRESB Sustainability Leadership Title

London Luton Airport has been named a Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) sector leader for the fifth consecutive year, achieving a perfect score in the assessment. The recognition highlights the airport’s continued efforts to improve environmental performance and strengthen its sustainability practices.
GRESB assesses environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance across real estate and infrastructure sectors, helping organisations measure their progress against industry standards.
London Luton Airport has introduced several initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, including measures to manage carbon emissions and support more fuel-efficient aircraft operations. These efforts form part of its wider approach to sustainable airport development.
The airport is also planning to increase its annual passenger capacity from 19 million to 32 million following government approval in April 2025. The expansion will be managed under a Green Controlled Growth framework designed to address environmental impacts, including noise, carbon emissions and air quality.
The latest GRESB recognition reinforces London Luton Airport’s focus on balancing future growth with environmental responsibility as it prepares for rising passenger demand.
