IndiGo is starting a new direct flight between Mumbai and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. With this route, IndiGo will become the only Indian airline to operate direct flights between the two cities.

The flight from Mumbai to Dar es Salaam will depart at 2.20 am and arrive at 6.05 am. The return flight will leave Dar es Salaam at 7.05 am and reach Mumbai at 3.55 pm. The flights will operate daily, subject to regulatory approvals, as reported by the Economic Times. This means the schedule could change if approvals are delayed. The report does not state the start date of the service.

Dar es Salaam is the largest city and main financial hub of Tanzania. It is also the country’s de facto capital. The city is located on the Swahili coast of the Indian Ocean.

Tanzania is in East Africa. It offers many kinds of experiences in a single trip. Visitors can see vast savannahs with wildlife, walk on mountain trails, explore historic towns and relax on palm-fringed beaches. The country is also home to the famed Serengeti National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro.

Until now, travellers from India may have needed to take connecting flights to reach Tanzania. A direct daily service can help save time and make planning easier. It can also be useful for business travellers, as Dar es Salaam is a major commercial centre.

The early morning departure from Mumbai also means passengers reach Dar es Salaam in the morning, which leaves time for sightseeing or onward travel on the same day.

Passengers interested in the route should wait for the official start date and fares from IndiGo. They should also check visa and health requirements for Tanzania before booking. As the flights are subject to regulatory approvals, it is wise to confirm the final schedule on the airline’s website or app before travel.
