Embraer and CAE have deepened their longstanding partnership with the installation of a new state-of-the-art E2 full-flight simulator at CAE’s Madrid training centre. This strategic move is aimed at supporting the growing fleet of Embraer E2 jets across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Enhancing Access to E2 Training in Europe

The simulator will be operated by Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS), a joint venture between the two companies, and represents a key milestone as it becomes the first E2 training installation in the EMEA region. The Madrid facility, conveniently located near Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, will provide carriers with enhanced accessibility to advanced pilot training close to their operations.

CAE’s Division President of Commercial Aviation, Michel Azar-Hmouda, emphasised the simulator’s role in reinforcing pilot proficiency: “With CAE’s CBTA-aligned courseware and Simfinity virtual tools, our Madrid centre delivers not just simulation but a fully integrated training experience tailored for the E2 fleet.”

Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, echoed this sentiment, stating, “This is more than a simulator—it is a commitment to our customers in the region. By bringing cutting-edge technology closer to operators, we ensure that E2 pilots receive world-class instruction without crossing continents.”

A Growing Global Training Network

This is the second E2 FFS introduced by ECTS, following the simulator already in operation at CAE’s Singapore facility. In addition, the ECTS network operates nine Phenom-series simulators across training centres in Dallas, Las Vegas, São Paulo, Vienna, and Burgess Hill in the UK, with Vienna starting its training sessions this summer.

Embraer continues to invest in localised and scalable training infrastructure as its E2 jets see growing adoption worldwide. The new Madrid simulator aligns with this approach, providing operators a high-fidelity training solution that reflects the modern performance capabilities and handling characteristics of the E2 series.
