Wizz Air renews AVIATAR Technical Logbook agreement with Lufthansa Technik

  • New long-term agreement marks next chapter in long-standing digital partnership
  • Renewal builds on seamless AVIATAR and AMOS integration, supporting efficient and paperless technical operations

Since joining AVIATAR in 2018 and becoming the launch customer for the electronic Technical Logbook in 2021, Wizz Air has been among the leading adopters of Lufthansa Technik’s digital fleet solutions portfolio. The AVIATAR Technical Logbook, seamlessly integrated with the AMOS maintenance and engineering platform, enables real-time collaboration between flight crews, maintenance controllers and engineering teams.

Delivering measurable operational benefits

Through the solution, technical issues can be reported digitally and shared instantly with maintenance teams, accelerating defect resolution, improving data quality and reducing manual effort. Since implementation, Wizz Air has reported a reduction of more than 25 percent in Maintenance Control Center calls, while manual documentation efforts can be reduced by up to 50 percent.

A long-standing digital transformation partnership

The new agreement further strengthens Wizz Air’s participation in Lufthansa Technik’s Digital Tech Ops Ecosystem. Alongside AVIATAR’s Technical Logbook and the AMOS maintenance and engineering platform, Wizz Air also utilizes solutions from flydocs, the ecosystem’s asset and digital records management specialist. Together, the three ecosystem partners support end-to-end technical operations through integrated digital workflows across maintenance execution, operational data management and aircraft records management.

For Wizz Air, this enables a seamless digital workflow across the entire maintenance process. Technical findings entered by pilots in the AVIATAR Technical Logbook are immediately available to Maintenance Control, providing the information needed to assess and manage the event. If maintenance action is required, the corresponding work can be planned and executed in AMOS while keeping all relevant operational and maintenance data connected. Once completed, records and supporting documentation are transferred to flydocs, creating a continuous digital record and ensuring full traceability throughout the aircraft lifecycle.

The agreement builds on a partnership that began in 2018, when Wizz Air joined Lufthansa Technik’s newly launched AVIATAR platform. In 2021, the airline became the launch customer for AVIATAR’s Technical Logbook solution, creating one of the industry’s largest digital pilot-to-maintenance workflows.

In 2022, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Wizz Air’s operational processes for using the electronic Technical Logbook. Following the initial fleet-wide rollout across more than 140 aircraft in 2022, the renewed agreement covers more than 400 Airbus A320-family aircraft.
