Navi Mumbai Airport News
Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is expanding its public transport and ground connectivity ahead of the Winter Schedule 2026-27. The airport is adding more bus, taxi, autorickshaw, car rental and shuttle services to make travel easier for passengers from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune and other parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The winter flight schedule will be in effect from October 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027. Ahead of this period, the airport is increasing its transport options to handle the expected movement of passengers and airport employees.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) will start e-Shivai electric bus services from NMIA on October 7. In the first phase, buses will connect the airport with Dadar, Borivali and Pune. The fare will be Rs 170 for Dadar East, Rs 210 for Borivali and Rs 450 for Pune. Some passengers will also be eligible for fare concessions.
MSRTC plans to add services to Thane and Nashik by the middle of November. Private operator Chalo Bus is already running 21 daily services between NMIA and locations including Marol, Bandra, Dadar and the World Trade Centre in Colaba.
Within Navi Mumbai, Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) operates seven dedicated airport routes connecting Terminal 1 with several important areas, including Kharkopar, Belapur, Nerul, Panvel and Khandeshwar. More connectivity to Vashi and Panvel is also planned.
The airport is also strengthening last-mile transport. Uber Go, Uber Premier and Uber Auto will be available for passengers, along with prepaid taxis, autorickshaws and car rental services. Bharat Taxi is scheduled to start operations on October 10 with up to 40 vehicles.
A free inter-airport shuttle service will also connect NMIA with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA). The service will operate every hour.
Overall, NMIA is increasing ground transport capacity to 4,594 vehicles and services, including app-based taxis, buses, autorickshaws and car rentals. Improved signage, wayfinding systems and passenger assistance facilities are also being introduced to make airport transfers smoother.
