Navi Mumbai Airport News: IndiGo Cuts Back Flights From Navi Mumbai Airport

Navi Mumbai Airport News
IndiGo is making changes to its flight operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) as part of its Winter 2026 schedule. The airline plans to reduce or shift capacity on several routes from October 25, 2026. The changes are linked to passenger demand, available airport slots and aircraft rotation requirements.
Under the revised schedule, IndiGo will stop services from Navi Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram, Siliguri-Bagdogra and Kannur. Flights to Kochi and Madurai may also be temporarily suspended. These changes will reduce the number of routes operated by IndiGo from the new Mumbai airport.
At the same time, IndiGo plans to move some important routes from Navi Mumbai to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Flights connecting Navi Mumbai with Visakhapatnam, Ghaziabad-Hindon and Jabalpur will be shifted to Mumbai’s main airport. One reason for the move is that Navi Mumbai currently has limited international connectivity, making it harder for some passengers to connect with international flights.
IndiGo will continue to operate regional flights from Navi Mumbai. The airline plans to keep three ATR turboprop aircraft at the airport. These aircraft will serve destinations such as Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Diu.
The airline will also increase capacity on some routes from Navi Mumbai, including flights to Nagpur, Jodhpur and Lucknow. This shows that IndiGo is not completely reducing its presence at the airport but is instead adjusting its network according to demand and operational requirements.
The changes come less than a year after Navi Mumbai International Airport started commercial operations. IndiGo had earlier expanded its network from the airport and added several domestic destinations. The airline had also announced more than 30 new routes from Navi Mumbai during March and April 2026.
IndiGo’s latest schedule changes highlight how airlines regularly adjust their networks after studying passenger demand and operating conditions. Further changes could be made depending on how the routes perform during the winter schedule.
