A suspected fraudster was apprehended at Pune Airport after allegedly seeking money from an arriving passenger by giving a false story. During questioning and document verification, CISF personnel reportedly found that the accused was carrying documents showing three different identities.
The incident came to light after a passenger arriving from Hyderabad allegedly transferred Rs 11,000 to the suspect. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) later intercepted the man at the airport and questioned him about the transaction and his identity documents.
According to the report, the incident took place after the passenger arrived at Pune Airport on IndiGo flight 6E-351 from Hyderabad.
The accused allegedly approached the passenger and asked for Rs 20,000 in financial assistance. He reportedly narrated a sympathetic story to convince the passenger to provide money.
The passenger eventually transferred Rs 11,000 to the accused.
The matter subsequently came to the attention of security personnel at the airport, leading to the interception and questioning of the suspect.
CISF personnel reportedly intercepted the accused at around 5:45 am on Thursday. During questioning and verification of his documents, security personnel found discrepancies in the identities being used by the suspect.
According to the report, the accused was carrying documents linked to three different identities. He was reportedly unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the multiple identities.
The security personnel also questioned him about the third-party financial transaction involving the passenger.
The discovery of multiple identities raised further questions about the accused’s activities. CISF personnel continued questioning him regarding the alleged financial transaction and the documents found in his possession.
The matter was subsequently taken up for further investigation by the concerned authorities.
The incident highlights the role of airport security personnel in identifying suspicious activities and verifying the identities of individuals inside airport premises.
