KLM Extends Dubai Flight Suspension Until October 31

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has extended the suspension of flights to Dubai until October 31, 2026, leaving passengers with bookings on the route facing further travel changes. The Dutch airline has also suspended services to Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia for the same period.

The airline announced the extension on October 10, pushing back its previous cancellation deadline of October 24. No new date has been confirmed for the resumption of flights to the three destinations.

The decision comes as security concerns and airspace restrictions continue to affect airline operations across the Middle East. KLM has been adjusting its flight schedules in response to the changing situation and is monitoring developments before restoring services.

Passengers planning to travel between Amsterdam and Dubai should check their booking status before heading to the airport. Travellers with cancelled flights can manage their bookings through the KLM website or mobile app.

KLM offers affected passengers options to change their travel dates or request a refund for cancelled flights. Eligible customers can also review the airline’s travel voucher options. Passengers who booked through travel agencies should contact their agents for help with rebooking or refunds.

The suspension covers flights to and from Dubai International Airport, as well as services connecting Amsterdam with Riyadh and Dammam. The airline has not announced a confirmed date for restarting these routes, meaning passengers should continue checking official updates before making travel arrangements.

KLM has also made separate arrangements for its Amsterdam-Tel Aviv service, which resumed in August with a technical stop in Larnaca, Cyprus. The latest extension concerning Dubai and the two Saudi cities does not announce any further changes to that route.

Travellers heading to the UAE from the Netherlands may need to consider alternative airlines or connecting routes while the suspension remains in place. However, flight schedules can change at short notice, so passengers should confirm availability directly with their chosen airline before booking.

KLM’s latest announcement keeps its Dubai, Riyadh and Dammam services suspended through the end of October, with any further changes dependent on updated operational and security assessments.
