Alliance Air Flight Suffers Tyre Burst During Landing

Bilaspur Airport News

An Alliance Air flight travelling from New Delhi to Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh faced a minor scare on Friday afternoon when one of its tyres burst while the aircraft was landing at Bilaspur Airport. The pilots managed to bring the aircraft to a controlled stop, and all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.

The flight was carrying 41 people, including 37 passengers and four crew members. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Alliance Air flight 91-613 (VT-UDA) took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at around 11:11 am. The aircraft reached Bilaspur Airport at approximately 1:22 pm.

During the landing, the tyre on the left side of the aircraft’s main landing gear reportedly burst. The incident caused a puncture during touchdown.

Despite the tyre problem, the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft and bring it to a safe halt on the runway.

Airport officials immediately responded to the situation and assisted the passengers and crew.

Bilaspur airport director N Biren Singh said that all 41 people on board were safe. The passengers and crew were moved from the aircraft and escorted safely to the terminal building.

Airport ground staff and other personnel also reached the aircraft following the incident to manage the situation and ensure passenger safety.

A tyre burst during landing can create a safety concern because aircraft tyres experience high pressure, friction and heavy loads when an aircraft touches down. For this reason, the aircraft requires a detailed inspection before it can operate another flight.

Following the incident, Alliance Air cancelled the aircraft’s scheduled return journey from Bilaspur to Delhi via Prayagraj.

The decision was taken to allow engineers and maintenance teams to inspect the aircraft and replace the damaged tyre. Airport officials said that a detailed technical and safety inspection would be required before the aircraft could be cleared for further operations.

Alliance Air confirmed the incident and said that there were no injuries. The airline described the event as a wheel burst involving the main wheels on the left-hand side of the aircraft.

The same aircraft had operated the Delhi-Kullu-Delhi route safely earlier in the day before flying to Bilaspur.

Alliance Air said its engineering team would examine the aircraft to determine the reason for the tyre burst.

The incident caused concern among passengers but ended without injuries. The aircraft will undergo the necessary maintenance and safety checks before returning to service. Authorities and the airline are expected to review the technical findings to understand what caused the tyre failure during landing.
