Air India Express Flight Hit by Bird on Bengaluru Route, Lands Safely

Air India Express News
An Air India Express flight travelling from Visakhapatnam to Bengaluru was hit by a bird on Monday, October 19, but landed safely at Kempegowda International Airport. All 148 passengers on board were reported safe, with no injuries among passengers or crew members.
The aircraft completed its scheduled journey despite the bird strike. After landing at Bengaluru airport, it was moved to a parking stand for further inspection.
Ground engineers and technical teams began examining the aircraft to check for possible damage caused by the bird strike. The inspection was aimed at identifying any impact on the aircraft’s structure or engines before it could return to service.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the aircraft reached its destination without requiring an emergency landing at another airport.
Bird strikes can pose safety concerns for aircraft, particularly when they affect engines or other important components. Airlines and airport teams follow established procedures to inspect aircraft after such incidents and determine whether repairs or further checks are required.
The incident comes days after an Emirates flight encountered a bird strike at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on October 17.
Emirates flight EK517, which had arrived from Dubai, was affected by the incident near Terminal 3 at around 3:10 pm. The airline said the aircraft needed repairs, resulting in a delay to its return service from Delhi to Dubai.
The airline also said it was arranging hotel accommodation for passengers affected by the delay.
