Security officials at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru detected two yellow-metal capsules weighing around 82 grams concealed inside the mouth of a passenger during a security check on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The passenger has been identified as Mohammed Siraj, an Indian national. According to the available information, Siraj had arrived in Bengaluru from Dubai and was scheduled to travel onward to Ghaziabad by flight.
The incident took place at Terminal 1 of Bengaluru Airport during pre-embarkation security checks. The passenger was undergoing routine screening when a CISF officer reportedly became suspicious of his behaviour.
CISF Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar Sharma was conducting the screening when he allegedly noticed that Siraj was not responding appropriately to questions from the screening officer. His behaviour reportedly raised suspicion and led security personnel to conduct further checks.
During the subsequent security process, officials detected two yellow-metal capsules concealed inside the passenger’s mouth.
The capsules were found to have a combined weight of approximately 82 grams.
According to the information available, Siraj had reached Bengaluru from Dubai before the incident. He was scheduled to board another flight to Ghaziabad from Bengaluru Airport.
The discovery was made before he could continue his onward journey.
