Dubai Airshow 2025: Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) Signals New Phase of Smart Airspace Evolution
- Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) concluded Dubai Airshow 2025 with more than six international collaborations focused on air navigation services, academic development and digital research to strengthen Dubai’s smart-airspace transition.
- The organisation unveiled a new drone air traffic management platform with DAEP and ANRA Technologies, advancing Dubai’s readiness for advanced and urban air mobility.
- The Airshow highlighted dans’ strategic role in shaping Dubai’s next phase of smart airspace, supported by leadership engagements and long-term initiatives linked to the Aviation Talent 33 agenda.

Dubai’s next phase of airspace modernisation is now visibly progressing, and Dubai Air Navigation Services (dans) demonstrated this direction at the 2025 Dubai Airshow by positioning itself at the centre of the aviation transformation.
Across the five day event, the organisation announced strategic partnerships, unveiled a landmark technology platform and maintained a prominent operational presence, leaving little doubt about the scale of its ambitions.
The tone was set early with a suite of global collaborations that spanned government aviation bodies, academic institutions and industry innovators.
More than six cooperation agreements were finalised, each aligned with two goals: elevating air traffic management efficiency today and building the capability, talent and digital readiness needed for Dubai’s future airspace.
Among the agreements, the standout was the landmark memorandum of understanding with the Bermuda Airport Authority, opening a framework for collaboration across air navigation services, training and simulation. dans also strengthened academic ties through partnerships with Emirates Aviation University and the ITAérea Aeronautical Business School, while advancing research partnerships with Emirates Airline and Thales to co-develop digital tools that improve operational predictability and reduce aircraft holding patterns.

While the collaboration strategy highlighted dans’ overall credibility, the introduction of a new drone air traffic management platform demonstrated its technological ambitions. Developed in collaboration with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and ANRA Technologies, the platform provides instant digital approvals for drone operations and merges radar, meteorological and aeronautical data to enhance detection and conflict resolution capability. It is built for the next wave of aviation, advanced and urban air mobility, positioning Dubai ahead of demand rather than responding to it.

The launch drew attention from leadership. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who chairs dans, visited the stand to review the organisation’s technological developments and readiness to support aerial displays and airspace management throughout the event. His directives emphasised continued focus on operational excellence and reinforced the goal of maintaining Dubai’s status as a global aviation capital.
The week also marked a milestone moment in visibility for dans leadership. CEO Ibrahim Ahli summed up the organisation’s direction, saying:
“Our participation this year represents a strategic milestone in our efforts to develop a smarter, more efficient airspace and expand our international partnerships to support Dubai’s preparations for the future of global aviation, including our readiness for full-scale operations at Al Maktoum International Airport. The initiatives launched during the Airshow, including the drone air traffic management platform and our new research and academic partnerships, reflect our commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and to advancing the objectives of the ‘Aviation Talent 33’ initiative by providing an advanced environment that nurtures learning and growth for national talent.”
That ambition is supported by an operational scale that few in the industry match. dans provides air navigation services at four airports across the UAE, including the world’s busiest airport for international passengers, and manages more than 1,300 aircraft movements every single day. It also operates the world’s largest 360-degree 3D tower simulator, offering both operational and training capability, and giving Dubai a unique advantage in the development of future air traffic specialists.

Throughout the Airshow, dans held a series of senior level discussions with international aviation organisations to advance AI enabled operational decision tools, unmanned aircraft traffic management, advanced air mobility policies and future airspace-design models.
High-level meetings with NATS, the United Kingdom’s leading air traffic services provider, focused on leadership development, knowledge exchange initiatives, and strategies to empower emerging aviation talent.
As Dubai moves rapidly toward expanded airport infrastructure and next generation mobility platforms, the Airshow made one point clear: dans is not simply preparing to manage the future, it is contributing to shaping what that future will become. From transforming airspace efficiency today to laying the foundation for new aviation models tomorrow, the organisation now sits at the centre of one of the most ambitious air navigation modernisation programmes in the world.
