United Airlines Opens 54,000-Square-Foot Lounge at Houston Airport

Houston Airport News
United Airlines has opened a new 54,000-square-foot United Club at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, giving passengers access to the largest airline lounge in the Americas, according to the airline.
The lounge is part of the newly developed Terminal B North Concourse, which opened to passengers on October 22. The three-level concourse covers 765,000 square feet and features 22 gates for mainline aircraft. The development forms a major part of United’s $2.6 billion Terminal B transformation project.
The new United Club can accommodate up to 800 travellers and offers panoramic views of the airfield. Facilities include a 1,350-square-foot outdoor terrace, two full-service bars, two buffet stations and 11 private phone rooms. Passengers can also use high-speed Wi-Fi and power outlets throughout the lounge.
Access is available to eligible travellers with a United Club membership, qualifying credit cards or select premium-cabin tickets.
The wider Terminal B North Concourse has been designed to provide more space for passengers and improve boarding operations. All United flights departing from the new concourse will use jet bridges, allowing passengers to board directly from the terminal.
The facility also offers a wider selection of restaurants and shops, with more than 105,000 square feet dedicated to retail and concessions. Options include Houston favourites such as Blood Bros. BBQ, Pizaro’s Pizza, Katz Coffee and Blue Bell Creameries, alongside national brands including Starbucks and Raising Cane’s.
Families will find a children’s play area and a dedicated sensory room for passengers with autism and sensory sensitivities. The terminal also features 10 major public art installations inspired by Houston’s culture, history and natural surroundings.
The new concourse replaces airport facilities dating back to 1969. United said the Terminal B project is expected to increase the number of passengers it can accommodate on peak travel dates in 2026 by 40% compared with 2023.
United has invested more than $3.5 billion in Houston’s airport infrastructure since 2015. The expansion supports the airline’s growing operations at its largest Houston hub, where it operates more than 500 daily departures.
