Daher has added two new logistics contracts from Safran, expanding a long-standing industrial relationship into production logistics and aftermarket support. The agreements cover nacelle integration logistics in Hamburg and the establishment of a dedicated MRO and AOG platform in the Paris region, with both operations scheduled to begin in April 2026.

The development builds on an existing partnership with Safran Helicopter Engines, in which Daher continues to support operations at Bordes, Tarnos and Buchelay in France. That contract, renewed and expanded in 2025, involves more than 150 Daher personnel and aligns with the helicopter production ramp-up and site modernisation.

Nacelle integration

The Hamburg contract, awarded at the end of January 2026, covers operations linked to engine and nacelle integration for the Airbus A320neo final assembly line. Daher will manage receiving, storage, parts preparation, handling and dispatch activities linked to nacelle assembly.

A team of around 20 employees will be deployed on site. The project also required a two-month transition phase, including integration and personnel transfer from the previous operator, handled jointly by Daher’s German and central logistics teams.

The contract adds to Daher’s existing logistics footprint in Germany, where it already employs around 1,100 personnel supporting programmes for Airbus Defence & Space in Bremen as well as industrial operations for Alstom. The production-linked logistics activity adds to the transport and supply chain services already provided by Daher Logistics.

MRO and AOG Support

In France, Daher will establish a 3,000 square metre support platform at Tremblay-en-France dedicated to Safran Electronics & Defense’s customer support operations. The site will handle MRO flows and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) requirements, with location playing a decisive role in the contract award due to its proximity to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The facility will manage more than 3,000 outbound shipments annually, alongside 1,700 inbound deliveries and 7,500 picking lines. The contract runs for three years, with an option for a two-year extension.

Operational scope includes AOG support with on-call service and a maximum response time of 3.5 hours, reflecting the urgency of grounded aircraft situations.

Daher will also deploy its warehouse management system to ensure traceability and real-time operational control across the platform.

The site replaces an existing facility located approximately 1.5 kilometres away, with the transition prepared through joint planning workshops between Daher and Safran Electronics & Defense teams.

Aftermarket Support

The Tremblay-en-France operation also marks a step forward in Daher’s AOG Desk capability, which is structured to provide rapid-response spare parts logistics to airline operators.

In AOG scenarios, where aircraft downtime directly translates into financial loss, response time and inventory visibility become critical.

This reflects growing demand for spare parts logistics across the industry.

The global aviation MRO market, currently valued at over $90 billion, is projected to exceed $150 billion by 2035, driven by continued fleet expansion and increasing demand for maintenance and spare parts support.

Logistics providers are moving closer to operators and OEM support divisions to reduce turnaround times and improve parts availability.

Focus on Automation

In parallel, Daher and Safran are working on joint automation initiatives across logistics operations. These include the deployment of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), automated storage systems and advanced control tools aimed at improving efficiency and throughput.

The integration of automation into both production and aftermarket logistics points to changes within aerospace supply chains, where complexity and volume are increasing alongside tighter performance expectations.

Commenting on the development, Aymeric Daher, Deputy CEO of Daher and CEO of Daher Logistics, said Safran remains a strategic partner for the group, with the new contracts marking an expansion into both industrial and spare parts logistics across France and Germany.

With the new contracts, Daher’s role within Safran’s ecosystem now spans helicopter engine support, nacelle-related logistics linked to commercial aircraft production, and aftermarket logistics for electronics and defence systems. The scope points to a more integrated supply chain approach that covers both manufacturing flows and in-service support requirements.
